Getting Started
Getting started in Solo is easy, which is one of the greatest aspects of the sport. All that you need to participate is a safe, operable car and a driver’s license. Most Solo competitors autocross their daily driver. So, follow this quick check-list and you’ll be ready to autocross this weekend!
- Basic vehicle safety inspection – We’ll do this for you, but it’s better to be prepared, and it’s a good thing to do every once in a while anyway. Things to look for include safe tire tread depth, quality brake pads and fluids, proper battery tie downs, and a cleaned out car. You don’t want to be distracted by a flying iPod!
- Valid driver’s license – Check that expiration date. You’d be surprised how many people forget to renew their license. Don’t let that be you!
- Willingness to learn and have fun!
If you have a helmet, bring it along. We’ll inspect it to make sure it’s current and safe. If you need a helmet, don’t worry, we’ve got loaners to get you started.
Really, this is all you need to get started. Now, check out our Calendar, pick a date, and come on out!
