New to autocross? Here are a couple of videos to get you started:
What is autocross (solid overview of an average event):

How to prepare for your first autocross (focused on tech inspection and safety):

For novice drivers (first-time participants or those with under a year of events):
Classing your car can be one of the trickier elements while getting started – modifications that seem subtle (new intake, new BOV, even non-factory wheels or tires) can knock you out of a class that may best fit you, your experience, and your vehicle and toss you in the mix with those that have purpose-built machines and the seat time to match.
Not to worry! South Carolina Region runs 3 novice classes to reduce barriers to entry and get your foot in the door. If you end up liking autocross (and you will!) then we can help you class your car when you’re ready to compete at the next level.

For novice drivers, please register in one of the following classes:
Novice Rear (NR): All rear-wheel drive novice vehicles.
Novice Front (NF): All front-wheel drive novice vehicles.
Novice All Wheel Drive (NA): All all-wheel drive novice vehicles.

Keep in mind that while autocross is designed to be accessible to everyone, safety regulations are present and strictly enforced. Your vehicle must generally be wider than it is tall.
Again for novices (and a reminder for all), autocross is completely volunteer-led. That means that all our participants will have some amount of working to do during one of their non-driving blocks. We’ll train you on how to help keep the event running smoothly so that we can all get the most seat time possible.

Spread the word and we’ll see you on site!
