Solo

Getting Started

Getting started in Solo is easy, which is one of the greatest aspects of the sport.  All that you need to participate is a safe, operable car and a driver’s license.  Most Solo competitors autocross their daily driver.  So, follow this quick check-list and you’ll be ready to autocross this weekend!

  1. Basic vehicle safety inspection – We’ll do this for you, but it’s better to be prepared, and it’s a good thing to do every once in a while anyway.  Things to look for include safe tire tread depth, quality brake pads and fluids, proper battery tie downs, and a cleaned out car.  You don’t want to be distracted by a flying iPod!
  2. Valid driver’s license – Check that expiration date.  You’d be surprised how many people forget to renew their license.  Don’t let that be you!
  3. Willingness to learn and have fun!

If you have a helmet, bring it along.  We’ll inspect it to make sure it’s current and safe.  If you need a helmet, don’t worry, we’ve got loaners to get you started.

Really, this is all you need to get started.  Now, check out our Calendar, pick a date, and come on out!

If you have any more questions, try our Contact Us page, or sign up for our Facebook group.  There are plenty of helpful folks there that would love to welcome you to the group and answer any questions!
